Welcome to the Village of Corona del Mar…
Spanish for “Crown of the Sea”, Corona del Mar is a Village of the City of Newport Beach. Nestled between the San Joaquin Hills and the Pacific Ocean, Corona del Mar boasts some of the most prestigious residential areas along the California Coast. Located just 50 miles south of Los Angeles, 70 miles north of San Diego and only 4 miles from John Wayne Airport, locals and tourists enjoy some of California’s most beautiful beaches without the hustle and bustle of the big city.

This glimpse of the Pacific was taken from the trail leading down to the private access beach in the Shore Cliff community of Corona del Mar. Residents who are members of the Corona Highlands and Shore Cliff HOA’s have keys to access the gates leading to this secluded piece of the coast. While no beaches are privately owned, access is restricted due to the natural geography of the area which includes cliffs on each side. When the tide is low, it is possible to walk around from Little Corona. You will find the occasional brave soul who boats in while hoping to avoid the rocky bottom of this beach. If you love exploring tide pools, it would be a hard find to see any more beautiful than the pools located at this beach at low tide. Just remember not to remove the critters. Neighbors take that kind of behavior seriously.
